LAHORE  -  The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has officially announced the national squad for the Billie Jean King Cup 2025 Asia/Oceania Group competition in Sri Lanka, following successful trials held at the PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad from May 5 to 7, 2025. Eight of the country’s top-ranked female players were invited to participate in the selection trials based on their current national standings. After a series of competitive matches, three standout performers secured their places in the final lineup: Amna Ali Qayum, Meheq Khokar, and Sheeza Sajid. Former national No 1 Sara Mansoor has been appointed team captain, bringing her wealth of experience and leadership to guide the young squad.

Notably, Pakistan’s leading female player Ushna Suhail was exempted from the trials due to her exceptional recent performances and consistent record at the international level, earning her an automatic place in the team. The tournament will see top teams from across the region vying for promotion and international recognition in one of the premier women’s tennis competitions sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

PTF President Aisam ul Haq Qureshi expressed confidence in the team’s potential and emphasized their commitment to developing women’s tennis in Pakistan.
