ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has reported less than 1,000 new coronavirus cases for the first time in three months as 912 cases were recorded during the last 24 hours. The last time less than 1,000 cases were reported was on July 5 when 830 new infections were confirmed in the country. According to the government’s Covid-19 portal, 45,619 tests were conducted during this period. The total number of cases in the country has risen to 1,256,233 and the positivity rate remained 1.99 percent. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 28,058 after 26 more fatalities were confirmed in the last 24 hours. During the last 24 hours, Punjab reported 393 new cases and 13 deaths, Sindh 286 cases and 3 deaths, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 146 cases and 10 deaths, Islamabad 53 cases, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 17 cases, Balochistan 14 cases, and Gilgit-Baltistan reported 3 such cases.
