Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday denied America's plans to expand its embassy compound in Pakistan, saying there would be no mini Pentagon in Islamabad, report said. There is no mini Pentagon in the making in Islamabad, neither it is essential nor Pakistani government will allow its construction, affirmed the minister while addressing iftar-dinner he hosted for journalists at the Foreign Office. He said the Americans were acquiring land for their diplomatic mission, and added that they should approach the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for the purpose. In recent weeks, several newspapers have published reports that America is planning to bring in hundreds more staff and expand its embassy compound in Pakistan.
