Confucius Award for Allah Bakhsh

LAHORE - Provincial Secretary Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik received Confucius Award from Indian President Prathiba Patil in a ceremony held in connection with the International Literacy Day in Delhi. According to a handout issued here on Thursday, the Confucius Award is the highest international award for literacy and education which was conferred by the UNESCO to Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik in reorganisation of his services in the field of education and literacy in Punjab. It is pertinent to mention that Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik is the first Pakistani and a Muslim to get this coveted UN award. Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik is a DMG Officer and is PhD in Development Economics.
