CM pays tribute to Navy personnel

LAHORE  -  Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday said that the Navy Day is observed to pay homage to soldiers of Pakistan Navy, who rendered great sacrifices for the motherland.

On this day, the soldiers of Pakistan Navy wrote great history of sacrifices and bravery for the defence of the country while defending the maritime boundaries of the country, he added.

The CM said that Pakistan Navy played an unforgettable role in the September 1965 war.  He said Pakistan Navy is determined to retaining passion of Sept 8, 1965 and the whole nation is proud of the officers and soldiers of Pakistan Navy.

Condolence

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar Saturday expressed grief and sorrow over the death of senior journalist Ilyas Shakir. He conveyed his heartfelt  condolences to the bereaved family. In his message, CM Buzdar said we pay tribute to journalistic services of Ilyas Shakir. The CM prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family.

In his message on International Literacy Day, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said education is the key to give awareness to the people. Social and economic progress is not possible without education and the getting education is our prime responsibility. He said measures will be taken in the new Pakistan to improve literacy rate. Prominent place in the world is possible with education only. He said education is the basic right of all children. We should all join hands to improve literacy rate.

After getting information about fire in a plaza on MM Alam Road, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar ordered all concerning departments and administration to use all-out resources to control the blaze and rescue all the people trapped in the plaza. Recue 1122 and all concerning departments should speed up their efforts and complete the rescue operation at the earliest.

The second meeting of the provincial cabinet continued for five and half hours under Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. A thorough debate held on the agenda of the cabinet meeting. The chief minister, all ministers and other participant attended the meeting with great attention and questions were asked during briefings by various departments. The chief minister expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the Anti-Corruption Establishment and said this department has failed to give desired results and that there are many complaints against this department and he will not tolerate this anymore. We will improve the Anti-Corruption Establishment. The chief minister announced making a cabinet committee in this regard. He appealed to the whole nation including oversees Pakistanis to enthusiastically donate to the dam fund and called it the national responsibility.
