Several illegal shops, cabins demolished 

Mardan - The district administration on Wednesday arrested several shopkeepers during anti-encroachment drive and demolished dozens of illegal shops and cabins and retrieved 10 kanals of state land, a senior official said.  

Talking to The Nation, Deputy Commissioner Habibullah Arif said that the district administration has started an anti-encroachment drive in the district. He said in his supervision an anti-encroachment team headed by Assistant Commissioner Takhatbhai Zain Ali Raza demolished 15 illegal shops, cabins, warehouse in Fazalabad, Takar and Sharoshah areas.  

The DC said that the team also retrieved 10 kanals of land worth Rs5 crore 6 lakh from the occupied mafia. He said the team also arrested 5 persons for interfering in anti-encroachment operation.  

The DC warned that no one would be allowed to occupy government property. 

He said that government property is in fact national property. Anti-encroachment drive, he added, would continue in the district without any discrimination.
