LAHORE - Members of the national and provincial assemblies called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar to apprise him of the problems of their constituencies. inister were MNAs (Haji Imtiaz Ahmad and Syed Faizul Hasan Shah) and MPAs (Gulraiz Afzal Chan and Muhammad Tarar).

Speaking on the occasion, the CM stated that the backward areas had been made part of the development process and record development work had been done in every district. “Regrettably, the past governments neglected the remote areas, but all such localities are being developed by the PTI government now. The work done in three years is greater than the past governments’ overall performance,” he noted.

The CM maintained that the useless agitation of the opposition was aimed at saving their personal stakes as political designs of the PDM revolved around their personal interest. He alleged that the opposition was bent upon obstructing the development process. He said only the politics of public service and development would prevail in the country.

CM APPROVES COUNTRY’S BIGGEST 

EXPO CENTRE IN FAISALABAD

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has, in principle, approved the construction of Pakistan’s biggest expo centre in Faisalabad. An expo centre and surgical city will also be put up in Sialkot to enhance exports. Chairing a meeting held to review progress on special economic zones, the CM directed to take steps to populate the special economic zones without any delay.

The meeting was told that the aqua park project would be launched in Chunian. “It is satisfying that the investment facilitation cell is playing its role to resolve investors’ problems,” the CM said and appreciated the interest shown by international investors to invest in special economic zones. 

The meeting was informed that work was in progress at brisk pace in Chunian, Bahawalpur and Muzaffargarh economic zones, and funds had been released to provide utilities in Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Sheikhupura and SEZs of Vehari and Gujrat.

Industries Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, chief secretary, secretary industries, chairman of FIEDMC and PIEDMC, and others attended the meeting.
