LAHORE - Congratulating Imran Khan on his alleged third marriage, veteran politician from Kot Addu, Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar has questioned why the media is silent about marriages of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
“I failed to understand why the media is always after me and Imran Khan on the issue of marriages while it keeps mum over the marriages of Shehbaz Sharif,” he said in a statement.
Former Punjab chief minister who also served as Punjab governor under ZA Bhutto, Mustafa Khar is the biggest supporter of polygamy. He himself contracted more than four marriages at different times. One of his ex-wives is married to Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Terming it a personal matter of Khan, Khar stated that he had done a noble act if the news of his third marriage was true. “It is a proof of Khan’s courage and integrity that he is following the right path,” he said, adding that every Muslim should marry instead of having extra-marital relations with women.
Khar, who joined the PTI a year ago, complained that Shehbaz Sharif had contracted several marriages but media never mentioned it. “Perhaps, the media prefers not to talk about his marriages because of his fear,” he observed.
