WANA (Online) - Security forces killed 12 militants in South Waziristan and destroyed their four hideouts on Thursday. Security forces used jet plans in Upper Kai Garm, Langar Khail, Ladha and other areas. The jet planes targeted four hideouts of militants and killed 12 terrorists. It has also been reported that close relative of Baitullah Mehsud, Kafayat Ullah Aheni Khail was killed in July 7 drone attack by US. Meanwhile, the security forces conducted search and clearance operation in Swat and Malakand during last 24 hours, and the body of most wanted terrorist Commander Umar Zada, the Commander of Sakhra Valley, who was killed on Wednesday has been recovered. An update of ISPR here Thursday said that in Swat, security forces conducted search and clearance operation in Tiligram Valley and destroyed one explosives laboratory, while one soldier was injured. As many as 13 suspected terrorists were apprehended and few others were killed during the search operation. The security forces conducted search and clearance operation in Kalagai near Matta and defused seven IEDs, destroyed 7 hideouts and one terrorist training centre including tunnels and bunkers. During the search and clearance operations at Batkhela area near Malakand security forces apprehended 12 suspected terrorists. In FR Bunnu, an Improvised Explosive Device went off targetting road clearance party moving from Jani Khel to Sarabangla. As a resultant, 6 soldiers were injured. Regarding the relief activities, so far 1,150 tons rations and other items were distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand. As many as 12,275 cash cards were distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand, it added. Special permits are being issued to fruit dealers of Swat to carry fruit trucks to Peshawar from July 10-12.
