LHC takes notice of burning of Christians' houses

LAHORE - Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif on Thursday took suo moto notice into brutal incident of burning the houses of Christian community by some miscreants in Kasur and sought personal appearance of DPO and SHO concerned along with complete record. The CJ will resume hearing on Friday (today). CJ also took suo moto notice of abduction of 20-year-old girl and police torture on demonstrators who were protesting the girls kidnapping and sought personal appearance of DPO Khanewal and SHO concerned along with record. As per details, Sajjid alias Sajju and his two accomplices entered Ashiq Hussains house and abducted his daughter Iram Shahzadi. Later a large number of people blocked Abdul Hakim-Faisalabad Road for several hours in protest against abduction. Police rushed to the spot and a scuffle erupted between law enforcement agencies and demonstrators, leaving dozens, including two policemen injured. While taking suo moto notice of alleged registration of 25 fake cases against a citizen, The CJ sought personal appearance of DPO Sheikhupura and SHO concerned for Friday (today). As per details, Naziran Bibi alleged that Narang Mandi police had registered 25 fake cases against his son Mumtaz at the behest of landlord.
