Questions raised over SY security for Musharraf

LONDON - Lord Nazir Ahmed, a Pakistani expatriate member of British House of Lords, has tabled a bill against the security being provided by the Scotland Yard to former president Gen Pervez Musharraf. Lord Nazir in his bill has questioned the British government for spending money on Musharrafs security, as there is no such practice for any other former head of state or government currently residing in the UK. In an exclusive chat with TheNation, Lord Nazir disclosed that when Gen (r) Musharraf visited a music shop located at the Ilford Lane in East London and famous Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane for listening songs, six bodyguards from the Scotland Yard stand alert on duty. He further said only two guards are provided to former prime ministers of Great Britain while UAE rulers move without any security, then why Musharraf cannot live without such arrangements. He has asked the govt whether it has provided security to the ex-Pakistani president. If not, how he (Musharraf) is managing the huge expenses for hiring private security personnel.
