ISLAMABAD - President Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) Air Vice Marshall Tanvir Mehmood Ahmed said that Pakistan squash had entered a new era as the people saw two national players meet in the final of an international showpiece event. While talking to reporters after distributing the prizes among the players of Chief of Air Staff (CAS) International Squash Championship 2008 here at Mushaf Squash Complex, he said that it was good omen for the Pakistan squash. "Also, the efforts of PSF are producing fruitful results. Both Aamir Atlas and Farhan Mehbbob displayed good quality squash in the final. Last year I was upset in the final because Aamir was playing against an overseas player but this time both were Pakistanis," he said.  He further said that the federation would give maximum international exposure to young players at home to build their confidence. "We have enhanced the prize money of CAS Squash from US$ 25,000 to US$30,000 to attract international players and a reasonable number of entries were received this time. " We have planned to send our national players abroad for international events which will help them improve their ranking," he said. He further said that there were efforts and the will to fight and certainly the results would be acceptable in future. "Private sector should come forward to sponsor our national players and bring squash glory back to Pakistan," he concluded.
