PESHAWAR- Four policemen were killed and a Station House Officer (SHO) was critically injured when some unknown armed persons carried out a rocket attack on a police vehicle patrolling in the Mattani area here late Sunday night. All the victims were boarding the vehicle, when it came under attack near a hotel on Kohat Road, leaving four police constables dead and SHO of Mattani police station, Gulab Khan, critically injured. Meanwhile, at least four policemen, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector, were injured when some unknown militants attacked their vehicle, escorting Maulana Sufi Mohammad, chief of the banned Tehrik Nifaz Shariat-e- Mohammadi, with a remote control bomb in Maidan, Lower Dir area on Monday. Taliban spokesman Maulvi Omar while claiming the responsibility has termed the attack a reaction of the missile attack in Bajaur. According to details, some unknown persons attacked the police vehicle, escorting Maulana Soofi Mohammad, with a remote control bomb. Maulvi Omar, the spokesman of Taliban, has claimed the responsibility for the attack termed it a reaction of the recent missile attack on militants in Bajaur Agency.  "It was an attack against police as reaction of missile attack in Bajaur Maulana Soofi Mohammad was released by the by NWFP Government on April 21 last.
