KARACHI - Police have booked a nurse for allegedly kidnapping of a newborn baby from the limit of New Karachi Police limits. The incident took place at Sindh Government Hospital (SGH). The victim family resident of Sector 11/E, New Karachi. The father of kidnapped baby Shahid Ali works at a garments factory situated at Godhara, New Karachi. Ali got married with Qamar Jahan some four years ago but had no child. One of their baby had passed way two years ago. On Monday Jahan shifted to the emergency ward and she gave birth to a baby and the new-born was shifted to the childcare nursery of the hospital. Ali claimed that the a nurse, Sadqa Zakir who was also present during the operation of his wife had called three unidentified men and three women before the delivery. Afterwards the shifting, the baby went missing mysteriously. When Ali didn't find his baby in the hospital he called the police and stated that nurse had helped the kidnapping of the baby. Police have registered an FIR 363/08 (Under Section 363/34) on behalf of Ali and arrested the nurse. However, the nurse claimed that she had four children. Her elder daughter and son are the students of ninth class. She added how it was possible that a mother of four children kidnapped the child of anybody else. The Deputy Inspector General of the West Zone Aleem Jaffery said it was the pre-planned child kidnapping. DIG Jaffery suspected that nurse behind the kidnapping and sold out the child in 40 thousand rupees. SHO Pervaiz Bahngash pointed out that the nurse Sadqa arrived at the hospital four hours earlier of her duty time and operated the woman though the on duty doctor Nagama wasn't operate Jahan and was sleeping at the time of incident. Inspector Bahngash suspected the involvement of Dr Nagama but police could not catch her to investigate till filling of this story. The hospital management declined to comment on the incident when contacted. The relatives among the representatives of the various non-governmental organisations (NGO) gathered around the hospital and staged protested and also scuffled with the staffers of the hospital. Enraged crowed when contacted told that police reluctant to recovered the baby and also threaten the father of the missing child for dire consequences. However, SHO declined to know about any threat by his side.
