LAKKI MARWAT: Local administration launched anti-encroachment drive in parts of Lakki City on Monday.
On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Assistant Commissioner Qayyum Nawaz and Chief Municipal Officer
Asmatullah Khan supervised the campaign against removal of illegally built infrastructures from government land.
The administration officials with the help of heavy machinery demolished illegally built shops and houses at main Lorry Adda, old Kutchery Road, and white road. Police and levy personnel were present to avert any untoward incident. The authorities faced no resistance and the daylong drive ended successfully.
An official of the local administration said that removal of encroachments would help overcome traffic problems in the urban locality. He said the sphere of the campaign against encroachments would be expanded to other parts of Lakki city.
He said that besides removing encroachments from main roadsides the entire urban locality would be cleared of illegal constructions. The official asked the encroachers to remove their illegally built infrastructures at their own or otherwise the administration would have no option other than to raze them.–Staff Reporter
