The Brazilian ambassador in Pakistan on Monday asked the Sialkot exporters explore and capture the trade markets of his country. A ceremony was held at the building of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry to celebrate the honour of a Sialkot-based company that will represent Pakistan at the World Cup by the ‘Brazuca’ football.

The SCCI building was decorated with flags of Pakistan and Brazil and replicas of Brazuca Football. The schoolchildren, wearing Brazilian foot ball team’s uniforms” showered rose petals and the leading exporters and soccer balls manufacturers also danced and performed “Bhangra” at the drumbeats.

The SCCI management and visiting Brazilian ambassador also released hundreds of balloons and pigeons in the air at the launch of this ceremony. The celebrations were chaired by Ambassador of Brazil in Pakistan Alfredo Leoni, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.

He highly hailed the international standard craftsmanship of Sialkot based artisans and paid rich tributes to firm for producing the Brazuca football for the FIFA Football World Cup 2014 Brazil to be started on June 12,2014. He congratulated the team produced Brazuca, people of Pakistan for this major achievement and Brazil for the hosts of FIFA World Cup. He hoped that the alliance would herald new era of economic cooperation between the two countries.

A giant Brazuca foot ball replica was also launched in Sialkot during the ceremony. Dr Sarfraz Bashir revealed that it was a successful mega event for Pakistan. The world and national media covered the event.

Addressing the business community after the celebration, the ambassador said that his country was very much keen to enhance the trade ties with Pakistan, adding that Pakistan was very active in doing business.

The Brazilian ambassador narrated that Sialkot and Brazil are very much committed in enhancing mutual trade. He said that the Sialkot exporters have a great chance now to explore and capture the trade markets of Brazil. He said that Brazil was giving priority to increase and strengthen the trade ties with Pakistan, as Brazil was also intending to promote business-friendly environment between Pakistan and Brazil.

He pledged to remove all the hurdles to promote the mutual trade ties. He stressed a need for making some effective and positive steps for boosting ties. He invited Pakistan business community to divert their business activities to Brazil participating in all the coming industrial exhibitions and trade fairs in Brazil. Talking to industrialists during his visit to several leading industrial units in Sialkot, he vowed to make efforts to boost mutual trade ties.
