Restoration of peace in FATA top priority: Governor KP

PESHAWAR- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said to restore peace and normalcy in entire country; the FATA in particular is the top most priority of the present government.
He was addressing a big tribal jirga of Tirah Maidan; a far flung valley of Khyber Agency today. The sacrifices and the role of Pak Army; Levies and other security forces; political administration and the tribal elders in bringing peace and stability in the Tirah Maidan area are above board and to make sure that no one dare to see with evil eye towards our beloved country, all of them have to work and struggle with complete unity, cohesion and fraternity.
The Governor announced a package of Rs.3.5 billions for the Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency which beside other projects also encompasses, 90 kilometer long road to link Tirah Valley with Barra of Khyber; Orakzai Agency and Sadda of Kurram Agency. He also declared establishment of a model school alongside 16 normal schools in the valley.
All the private schools of the valley will be sponsored through FATA Education Foundation and a D-Category hospital will also be established in the valley, he said. MNA, Haji Shahji Gul, Senator Haji Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, FATA, Arbab Muhammad Arif, Principal Secretary to Governor, Dr. Muhammad Fakhar e Alam, Commissioner, Peshawar, Political Agent, Khyber Agency and the other concerned senior officials accompanied the Governor.
Appreciating the spirit of the tribal elders, the Governor said, he is quite conscious of the difficulties and miseries with which the people of Tirah Maidan area of Khyber Agency have gone through over the recent past, and no effort will be spared to apply all available means for complete rehabilitation of the respective people.
With the active support and cooperation of the Pakistan Army and the Political Administration, stability in real sense will be restored; damaged infrastructure re-constructed; all the affected people re-settled in their own homes and socio-economic uplift activities will be launched with utmost efforts.  For making all this possible, he said, small dams will also be constructed besides launching other projects and Inshaullah, the area will become a model for rest of the country.
