LAHORE: After terror attack on the Karachi Airport, Lahore CCPO Ch Shafiq Gujjar visited various areas of the city including Civil Secretariat, Lari Adda, Anarkali, Ichhra, Liberty Market and Raiwind Road as well as the routes of Lahore Airport and issued instructions for providing additional police force.
During inspection of the routes of Lahore Airport, the CCPO directed to double police patrolling on important roads besides deploying police commandoes on motorcycles for patrolling, said a press release.  He also issued instructions to SP Cantt to launch search operations in the localities and residential schemes around the Lahore airport. During inspection of security of Civil Secretariat, he directed SP City to depute additional police force at four different places. He said that alert police officials in plain clothes be assigned duty in and outside Secretariat for keeping a vigilant eye on the premises. During inspection of security arrangements at Lorry Adda, he directed SP City to depute 15 more police officials for security of Lorry Adda while plain cloth police officials be also posted in and around Lorry Adda at different timings. CCPO also directed posting of police officials in plain clothes in the trade centres of Anarkali, Liberty Market and Ichhra.  He directed SPs to take traders into confidence for security. The CCPO also directed that 300 commandoes who have recently completed training be sent for patrolling in different divisions for security purposes.–Staff Reporter
