LAHORE
A high-level delegation led by Chairman Albayrak Group of Companies, Turkey, Ahmet Albarak met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here on Monday. Matters regarding promotion of cooperation in energy, solid waste management and other sectors were discussed in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that there are deep-rooted historical and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey which have been transformed into useful economic ties during the recent years.
He said that after success of the most modern cleanliness system, initiated in Lahore, with the cooperation of Turkey, its scope is being extended to other big cities of Punjab and an agreement has been signed with Albayrak Company for implementation of this system in Rawalpindi and Murree city as well.
The Chief Minister further said that economic and trade relations with Turkey will further strengthen in future. Chairman Albayrak Group, Ahmet Albarak said that cooperation with Punjab government in different sectors will be further promoted. Federal Minister for Railways Kh Saad Rafique, Chairman Lahore Transport Company Kh Ahmed Hasaan, Managing Director Punjab Metro Bus Authority Sibtain Fazal Haleem and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
The Turk delegation strongly condemned the attack on Karachi Airport and paid tributes to the courage and bravery of security forces.
Meanwhile, Turkish Ambassador Sadik Babur Girgin called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations and promotion of mutual cooperation were discussed on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said a modern hospital equipped with the latest facilities has been constructed in Muzaffargarh with the cooperation of Turkey and this hospital has been named after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Turkish Ambassador said that there is a strong bond of love and brotherhood between people of Turkey and Pakistan. He said that cooperation with Punjab government will be continued in future as well.
