HAFIZABAD - The additional district collector has stressed a need for using boiled water to save themselves from the diseases during the summer season.

Addressing a meeting of the health and education department officers, Nouman Hafeez said that it was prime duty of the government for the provision of potable water for the prevention of water related-diseases during this sizzling weather. He also stressed the need for choloronisation of water tanks and reservoirs for ensuring provision of uncontaminated water to the people.

PROTEST AGAINST OUTAGES: The inhabitants of Akhtar Town Kolo Road took out a rally to protest against the behaviour of Line Superintendent Muhammad Ashfaq and called upon Gepco chief to take stern action against the official for his “anti-people behaviour”.

The dwellers alleged, “Transformer of the area often remains out of order and the line superintendent extracts amounts from them for rectifying defects.” They further said that when they contacted the line superintendent for the restoration of electricity by properly repairing the transformer, he became furious and insulted them.
