President Asif Ali Zardari has called for enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Russia in areas such as trade, investment, technology, and people-to-people exchanges.
He made the remarks while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday, marking Russia’s 35th National Day.
The President extended heartfelt congratulations to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ambassador Albert Khorev, and the Russian people, noting that Pakistan stands in solidarity with Russia on this occasion.
Highlighting the growing relationship between the two countries, President Zardari pointed out that frequent high-level engagements have laid a strong foundation for deeper mutual understanding and collaboration. He added that Pakistan and Russia continue to cooperate on regional and global platforms and expressed hope that their friendship will grow stronger in the years to come.
“We must reaffirm our commitment to building bridges of understanding and cooperation between our two nations,” the President said.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev, in his welcome address, described the pace of Pak-Russia cooperation as satisfactory, with ongoing progress across various sectors. He reiterated Russia’s support for Pakistan at the international level and underscored joint efforts to expand ties in education, diplomacy, and development.
