South waziristan  -  Two people were shot dead, two children wounded in cross-fire and more than 50 injured in traffic and stunt accidents during Eid-ul-Adha celebrations in Lower South Waziristan.

Festivities in Lower South Waziristan were marred by multiple tragedies, police said on Sunday. In Karikot, unidentified gunmen killed two men on the eve of Eid; police have opened an inquiry.

Wana Headquarters Hospital reported at least 48 injuries from reckless motorcycle stunts and speeding, mainly young men performing one-wheeling. Several were referred to other facilities.

In Manra, Tehsil Birmal, two children were critically hurt in cross-fire between rival groups. Authorities urged residents to cooperate to maintain peace.
