lahore - Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Sunday said that the government will not let anyone take the law into his hands and no compromise will be made on the rule of law.
“The PTI government believes in the supremacy of law. No one is above the law as it is equal for all”, he said in a statement here.
The Chief Minister said that the rule of law will be ensured in the province at any costs. He said the government has not targeted anyone for political victimization nor it had any such plans. “The government doesn’t believe in revenge, rather, it believes in accountability, transparency and merit”, he said.
Usman Buzdar asserted that the PTI government will continue to take indiscriminate action against the corrupt mafia at every level. He regretted that a free hand was given to this mafia in the past. He alleged that the former governments promoted the culture of nepotism in the name of merit, whereas the incumbent government was giving priority to merit and justice in discharging its duties.
The Chief Minister maintained that credit went to the PTI government that not a single corruption scandal had surfaced against it during the two and a half years. “The PTI government for the first time in the history of Pakistan has set an example of transparency. Now, no one can dare to misappropriate national resources”, he said.
He further stated that billions of rupees were looted in the previous tenures and the former rulers made records of corruption by taking kickbacks and commissions in different projects. He said that in the previous regimes, every new day revealed a new scandal of corruption. He alleged that the PDM gang was soaked with corruption.
“The nation has not yet forgotten the stories of the loot and plunder of the former rulers”, he said, adding that the incumbent government had tightened the noose against the corrupt elements. “The country is making progress under the honest leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Confidence of national and international investors has been restored on the government policies”, he said.
