ISLAMABAD - Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources has decided to constitute a sub-committee to resolve the problems of the people associated with oil and gas sector.
The Senate Standing Committee met here to discuss problems being faced by the people associated with the oil/gas sector and issue of gas supply to Baluchistan House etc. The Committee meeting was presided over by Senator Israrullah Zehri.
Senator Mohammad Azam said that Balochistan was an oil/gas producing province, but there are no gas connections in majority of the province.
The authorities have always ignored the people of the province as a result many social evils emerged in the area, he said. He revealed that even in Islamabad gas connection for the residential flats of Balochsitan House employees was delayed.
Secretary Petroleum, Arshad Mirza assured the meeting that the government had already finalized arrangements to supply gas to the residential flats of the Balochsitan House employees. He said that within a week gas connections will be installed in the remaining places of Baluchistan House.
