MULTAN-An elderly suspected Congo patient died at Nishtar Hospital here on Friday, a source at the hospital said.

Kaka Khan, 70, a resident of Kahlo Balochistan, was brought to the hospital in critical condition nine days and was admitted to isolation ward, the source added.

Sources added that bleeding started from his nose and mouth three days back and he passed away Friday evening. Sources said that the blood samples of the deceased were sent to National Institute of Health for lab test. Meanwhile, the family of the deceased received his body and took it to Baluchistan.

APP adds: The body of the suspected patient was wrapped in a special packing and the Heath Department has given special directives to the heirs for his burial.

Focal person for infectious diseases at NMI, Dr Kamran Adil said that samples of Kaka Khan had been sent to National Institute of Health, Islamabad for confirmation whether he was suffering from Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF).
