ELLAHABAD-A gang of dacoits gang-raped a widow of Arifwala who was on the way to visit her relative here after depriving her of cash and cellphone the other day.
According to details, the ill-fated victim (identity withheld), widow Muhammad Islam, a resident of Arifwala along with his brother Muhammad Asghar was on the way to Bongi Kalyan, 10-km away from here, to meet his relative Mian Muhammad Ameen. When they reached near Control Shed Stop, five armed dacoits stopped them and snatched cash, cellphone and other valuables from them. Later, three of the dacoits gang-raped the woman and fled away from the scene by leaving her in critical condition. On information, the police reached the spot and shifted the victim to hospital. The police have launched investigation without any clue or arrest so far.
