Man allegedly throws acid on wife in Sadiqabad

Rawalpindi   -  A man allegedly threw acid on his wife in Muslim Town on Saturday over domestic dispute, police said. The man identified as Sheharyar managed to escape from the scene while the injured woman was rushed to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) for medical treatment, police added.

According to police, the woman was present at her home when a brawl occurred between her and her husband. Her husband allegedly threw acid on her and fled from home, police said adding that Rescue 1122 was called and rescuers moved the victim to hospital. Local police visited the crime scene and hospital and recorded the statement of victim lady besides filing a case against the man involved in the crime, police said.

Talking to The Nation, SHO Police Station Sadiqabad Sub Inspector Tahir Rehan confirmed the occurrence of incident. He said police have obtained the mobile locations of accused after filing a case against him. He said the woman sustained minor injuries and her condition is out of danger. 

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old motorcyclist namely Muhammad Umer Hayyat sustained cut on nose after a stray twine fell on him near Shell Pump in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to Holy Family Hospital for medical treatment, informed a spokesman of Rescue 1122.
