PESHAWAR   -   Police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), in a joint operation shot dead five militants of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Bannu district on Sunday. A statement from the CTD Headquarters stated that the slain were involved in attacks on security forces, target killings and bomb blasts.

It said the raiding team following a tip-off reached Zindi Falak Sher area in the precincts of Hovaid police station in Bannu where an encounter took place. Five militants of TTP-Khalil Group and TTP Zar Gul alias Uncle Group were killed while some of their accomplices escaped the encounter.  A motorbike, explosives, Kalashnikovs, and mobile phones were also recovered. The slain terrorists were identified as commander Shah Fahad alias Shahid, Sabireen alias Abu Huraira, Noor Uddin alias Khalid alias Hafiz, Mohammad Iqbal alias Khalid and Sherman Ullah alias Siraj.
