Strict action against corrupt cops ordered

LAHORE - Inspector General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar taking action on public complaints has ordered strict disciplinary action against four SHOs and eight other police officials on the charge of corruption and misuse of power. He issued these orders of disciplinary action while holding an open kutchery at CPO here Monday. According to a handout, a complainant Khurshid Bibi in her application alleged that SHO Chowk Sarwar Shaheed Police Station had taken bribe from her for registration of a case. The IGP directed the DPO Muzaffargarh to register a case against the SHO after holding an inquiry into the matter. A citizen from Nankana Sahib, Muhammad Aslam alleged that SHO Nankana Sadar Ayub Gujjar had registered a fake case against him, tortured and later released him after taking bribe. The IGP directed DPO Nankana Sahib to hold inquiry into the matter and take departmental action on proving the allegation. Meanwhile Salamat Bibi in her application alleged that ASI Imran Gujjar of PS Ichhra registered a fake case against her and later released her after receiving gratification. The IGP directed SP Model Town Ayaz Saleem to inquire the matter personally and arrest the said official after registration of case if he found guilty. Muhammad Ashfaq in his application alleged that ASI Rana Zia-ul-Haq registered a fake case of gambling against him. Upon which, the IGP summoned the SP Model Town in open kutchery and directed him to submit him report within three days after holding inquiry in this regard. Shahida Bibi of Okara complained against the Constable Ehsan-ul-Haq alleging that he tortured her children and occupied her plot illegally. The DPO Okara was directed to hold an inquiry and register a case against the said Constable on proving the charges. Aneeta Shaukat alleged in her application that SHO PS Faizabad Inspector Muhammad Sultan received a huge bribe from her for registration of a case. The IGP directed the DPO Nankana to inquire the matter personally and take strict disciplinary action against the said official if he found guilty. A complainant Muhammad Aslam alleged in his application that SI of PS Minchanabad is demanding huge bribe from him to arrest the accused nominated in his case. The IGP directed the DPO Bahawalpur to inquire the matter personally and take necessary action against the said police official after holding an inquiry. Muhammad Ijaz submitted application against Sub-Inspector Muhammad Riaz of Sabzazar investigation alleging that the SI had not submitted correct record to the court. Upon which, the IGP summoned incharge investigation Sabzazar and investigation officer in the open kutchery and directed SP Sadar Investigation Muhammad Azhar Akram to hold inquiry in this regard. Ahmad Bakash in his application alleged that Constable Siraj Ahmad had received illegal gratification for the employment of his son but neither he got his son employed nor returned his money. The DPO RY Khan was directed to hold an inquiry and take strict action against the constable if the allegation proves true. Abdul Ghaffar alleged in his application that former SHO Satto Katla Inspector Faisal Sharif released the nominated accused in his case and in this regard an inquiry was held by SP Coordination in which he ordered for registration of a case against the said official and now the said official is harassing me to withdraw the case. The IGP directed SSP Operations to hold inquiry into the matter personally and take disciplinary against the said police official if he found guilty.
