LAHORE - The Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry has said zero-tolerance for corrupt and dishonest judges and strict disciplinary action will be taken against judges if any such allegation is proved against anyone in the provincial judiciary. While talking to a delegations of office-bearers the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) who called on him in his chamber on Friday to congratulate him on becoming chief justice, Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhary said, a prompt action would be initiated on a complaint to be filed by bar on the corruption of any judge. But that complaint must be credible proof, he added. The LHCBA delegation was led by its president Abdul Qadus while that of the Punjab Bar Council by its Vice Chairman Mumtaz Mustafa. The bar members assured chief justice of their full cooperation. Qadus said LHCBA played conciliatory role after tension arose between Lahore Bar and Khawaja Sharif. The Pb BC delegation gave several proposals to the new CJ to ensure speedy justice to the masses in the province and in turn the CJ assured that their proposals will be considered positively. Mumtaz said session judges should keep coordinate with PbBC for better understanding of problems of the lawyers community and giving speedy justice to the masses. The delegation assured the new CJ of full cooperation saying lawyers will continue their struggle rule of law and supremacy of constitution.
