Five drug pushers held, 21kg narcotics recovered

The Excise Police arrested five drug peddlers and recovered 21-kilogram narcotics during separate actions on Thursday.

Under the supervision of Circle Officer Peshawar and Mardan Region Waheed Khan, a police team headed by SHO Excise police station Peshawar, Muhammad Riaz searched a suspected vehicle bearing registration number LEA-3543 at Gol Chowk Road.

During search, nine kilogram drugs confiscated in secret cavities of vehicle, and two drug peddlers Kashif Azam s/o Muhammad Azam and Muhammad Shahnawaz Khan s/o Daud Akhtar Kiyani, hailing from Rawalpindi were arrested.

Headed by SHO Excise police station Mardan, a team stopped a suspected car (ANZ-07) near Charsadda Interchange. During search of vehicle, 8.4-kilogram opium confiscated in secret cavities in CNG tank was recovered and drug pusher Muhammad Imran hailing from Khairpur Miras Sindh was arrested.

Excise Police during a search of a suspected vehicle (RJ-990) at Gol Chowk recovered 4.5-kilogram heroin from secret cavities. Two drug pushers including Waqif Khan s/o Muhammad Shah and Shehla Bibi w/o Naveed Khan hailing from Charsadda were arrested.

DG Excise Department Mehmood Aslam and Director Narcotics Control Salahuddin have appreciated the successful actions have said that Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics were committed to eradicating the menace of narcotics from the province.
