rawalpindi - Police department in Rawalpindi district is set to kick off a strict campaign of monitoring gun shops in Rawalpindi on regular basis in order to check the trade of illegal guns and ammunition. According to police sources, on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Abbasi, checking of the gun shops will be conducted in the jurisdictions of City, Cantonment, Wah Cantt, Taxila and Gujjar Khan police stations. Specially constituted police teams will check the stocks and make hand written record on regular basis.
SHO City Police Station, Mirza Yousaf said that the police teams to conduct the checking of seventeen gun shops in their jurisdiction on a daily basis to ensure that no weapon is sold to any unauthorized person which may be used in terrorist activities.
