LAHORE - The Pakistan Football Federation has opened the exit door for four players and announced 23 players in the build up for the National U-14 team to appear in first Asian Youth Games Football Tournament. Pakistan will play all their three matches - South Korea, China and Myanmar - in Group-B of the 15-team event whose first round will be played from 20 to 26 June, followed by eight-team finals from 27 June - 6 July. The camp, commenced on May 3 2009, is in full swing at Punjab Stadium with all the boys, born on any day of 1995, are being accommodated at FIFA Football House's hostels. "Forerunner to the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) - Asian Youth Games (AYG) 2009 - will provide Singapore an excellent opportunity to put into practice the plans, processes and people systems for the greatest show in Asia before the YOG. The launching of AYG is only few days away - a new event on the sporting calendar in Asia. While the Games are being used as a tune-up for YOG, the purpose of event is to allow youths to use the chance to benchmark their performances against youth teams from Asian nations. We would like to take the advantage of the Games to set up ladder buildup of sustainable progress for Pakistan's football. It's a prep forum for our participation for the YOG 2010," said PFF President Faisal Saleh Hayat who added that Pakistani U14 team will mostly be comprised of players who appeared in U13, U14 AFC Festivals at Dhaka 2007and Tehran 2008. The PFF had called the 37 probables and scraped 10 players in the first stage on 23 May, further four today. PFF assigned coaches working under Asian Football Confederation (AFC)'s AID-27 Financial Assistance Scheme Shahzad Anwar, Muhammad Rasheed, Bilal Ahmed Butt, Muhammad Karim plus Zahid Taj to look after the school-level boys. The 23 players currently in the Camp are Ahsan Ullah, Adeel Khalid, Awais Anwar, Muhammad Sajid, Uzair Qadir, Abdul Waheed, Habib Ullah, Muhammad Bilal, Muhammad Nawaz, Aamir Oghan, Fazal Muhammad, Mudassar Mukhtar, Moaz Akbar, Wahab Mehmood, Syed Fahim Shah, Fahad Tariq, Aman Ullah, Munawar Abbas, Muhammad Ikram, Muhammad Baseer, Tehseen Ahmed, Ahsan Khan and Subtain Abbas.
