Peshawar - On the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, heartwarming displays of sacrifice and service to humanity were witnessed at the Paraplegic Centre Peshawar (PCP), where several charitable organizations and philanthropists contributed generously.
Qatar Charity and Friends of Paraplegics (FoP) continued their tradition of supporting individuals with disabilities and their families, while the Fix It Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter made the day even more memorable.
Qatar Charity distributed sacrificial meat to 98 persons with disabilities (PwDs), patients, and their families. Dr Syed Muhammad Ilyas, CEO of PCP, expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating that Qatar Charity’s gesture of distributing sacrificial meat among people with disabilities in Peshawar touched everyone deeply. He added that the selection of PCP and FoP for this initiative was a testament to their commitment to a genuine welfare mission and expressed confidence that Qatar Charity would continue collaborating with them to promote true service and selflessness.
As per tradition, Friends of Paraplegics Peshawar continued its services during Eid. This year, a calf was sacrificed, and the meat was distributed among the patients and their caregivers throughout the days of Eid.
Similarly, Fix It’s provincial president, Adnan Khan, not only visited the Paraplegic Centre Peshawar but also brought four goats for sacrifice with his team. Accompanied by fifty orphan children from the Fix It Family Home and their caretakers, they shared the joy of Eid with the patients, participated in the communal meal, and the children enjoyed playing in the centre’s lawn, celebrating the festivities.
Volunteers from Friends of Paraplegics and the Fix It team joined hands to host a feast for the patients and children, using the sacrificial meat. Eidi and sweets were also distributed among the children, bringing smiles to their faces.
Dr Ilyas appreciated Fix It’s heartfelt participation. He remarked that Adnan Khan and his team’s celebration of Eid with the patients and orphan children at PCP was not merely a charitable act, but a living example of humanity, selflessness, and unity. He added that the day was not only a source of joy for the patients but also an emotionally enriching experience—especially as his own two sons, Omar and Ali, were present on the occasion. Also present were Chairman of FoP, Sana-Ullah; General Secretary, Engr Irfan-Ullah; executive members; and district coordinators—all of whom played a vital role in making the Eid celebrations a success.
