Vehari  -  A meeting of the Regional Transport Authority was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Imarna Tauqeer. The District Police Officer Muhammad Afzal and other district officials attended the meeting. During the meeting, a comprehensive strategy was finalised to enforce the ban on passengers sitting on the rooftops of vehicles. It was also decided to raise awareness among bus owners and the public regarding this prohibition.

Deputy Commissioner Imarna Tauqeer emphasized that even during regional and local events, passengers must not be allowed to sit on the roofs of buses. Strict monitoring squads will be formed under the supervision of concerned officials to ensure compliance. Legal action will be taken against violators, including registration of FIRs and vehicle seizures. Transport owners were instructed to strictly avoid any violations. District Police Officer Muhammad Afzal stated that strict action will be taken against transporters found violating the rules. Traffic police, Punjab Highway Patrol, and the Secretary of the Transport Authority will conduct regular vehicle inspections. Overloading causes dangerous accidents, and the safety of human lives will be ensured at all costs.
