KHANEWAL - The business community and residents of Khanewal city demanded the authorities concerned construct road dividers on the under-construction roads so that traffic mess could be avoided in future.
According to official sources, construction of new roads and expansion of the old ones was started with the huge funding worth Rs260 million provided by the provincial government. The roads are being constructed from Girls College Chowk to Middo Wala chowk, Cafe Gulab to Lal Masjid Chowk and Akbar Bazaar (Ayub Road) to Siddique Hospital via Sanglawala Wala Chowk, Jamia Masjid Chowk, Ahle Hadith Chowk. Talking to The Nation, people demanded Deputy Commissioner Muzzafar Khan Sial, MPA Nishat Ahmed and the District Council chairman construct road dividers on these under-construction roads so that traffic mess could be avoided. They also demanded the officials install electricity poles and streetlights along the road dividers.
