Keamari villagers get ownership rights

Karachi (PPI) - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said the government was implementing the principles of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and it would serve country and people by completing its five-year tenure, besides compensating all atrocities made by former rulers with the masses. He said this while addressing a ceremony of giving away ownership rights and lease papers to villagers of Mubarak Goth, Manjhar Goth, Moosa Goth, Arif Goth, Murad Goth and Haji Muhammad Goth, at Mubarak Village Keamari Town on Saturday. He said Rs 1000 each is being paid to 7 million poor women under Income Support Program, added the project will be helpful to reduce poverty. The Chief Minister said 4000-acre land is given to five thousand families, at the rate of 25 acre per family, added, villagers would be accommodated on in their centuries old abodes besides giving them ownership rights. Qaim Ali Shah announced that Mubarak Village will be converted into a model village. He said according to directives of President Asif Ali Zardari poor localities would be given all facilities, adding free education, milk and eatables be given to children in government schools so that children belonging to deprived families could get their education in healthy environment. He added that development work will be made on 1,000 acre land for Lyari, saying a medical university and hospital will be established in Lyari so that local people could get healthcare facilities at their door steps and children of Lyari could also become doctors. The Chief Minister said the government provided technical training to 41000 people and they will be given jobs as well. He said all demands of NA-239 will be met and truck stand will be shifted, besides initiating sewerage system and other works in Mawach Goth. Sindh Minister for Revenue Jam Mehtab Dehar, MNA Abdul Qadir Patel and senior member Board of Revenue Ghulam Ali Pasha also spoke. Qaim Ali Shah, later, distributed ownership rights and lease documents amongst the villagers. CM for modern ways to export fish Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Saturday presided over a high level meeting at the Chief Ministers House about the affairs of Korangi Fish Harbor Authority. The meeting was attended among others by Federal Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development Mir Himanyun Aziz Kurd, Provincial Fisheries Minister Zahid Bhurgri, Provincial Secretary Fisheries Laeeq Memon, Managing Director Korangi Fisheries Harbour Authority SM Tariq, Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Mohammad Ali Afridi, Iftikhar Ali Khan and Special Secretary to Chief Minister Sindh Abdul Kabeer Qazi. The Chief Minister said that Pakistans seawaters are very rich and full of food species including fish and prawn. He said that fisheries sector is a big source of earning foreign exchange. The Chief Minister stressed the need to adopt modern ways to export fish and other food items. Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that the public private participation in fish harbour would be encouraged, while proper security for harbour would be made. He said that small boat owners should also be allowed to carry out fishing in allocated seawaters so that they could earn the livelihood for their children. Qaim said that City District Government Karachi will provide necessary civic facilities at the harbour. Earlier, Korangi Fish Harbor Authority Managing Director SM Tariq while briefing about the harbour said that authority was established in 1982 and its affairs were given under the control of Livestock and Fisheries Department.
