Rawalpindi-A gang of three armed robbers shot dead a man during a house robbery in Mizar Colony within the limits of police station (PS) Wah Cantt, informed sources on Monday. The robbers managed to escape from the scene after looting gold, cash and mobile phones, they said. The deceased has been identified as Ijaz Umer Khan, whose body was moved to hospital for autopsy. Police registered a case against the fleeing robbers and began investigation, according to a police spokesman. According to sources, one Asad Ijaz lodged a complaint with PS Wah Cantt that three robbers, having guns stormed into his house located at Mizar Colony and made entire family members hostage on gunpoint. He added his father Ijaz Umer was gunned down by robbers when he tried to rush to ground floor after hearing the screams of hostages. In Rawalpindi, two female armed robbers also entered into the house of FBR official, Imran Iqbal in New Town police station area and made off with cash and gold ornaments. Police registered case against the female bandits. Similarly, an expatriate was deprived of 4000 Saudi Riyals by two robbers while impersonating policemen at Car Chowk, in the precinct of PS Airport, informed sources. Moreover, the ICT police have launched a manhunt to arrest the unknown killer involved in murdering a married woman Atya Bibi in her house in Noon village in the jurisdiction of PS Noon.
