Pr Islamabad - Head of School Services Asia Pacific at International Baccalaureate Organisation Kevin House yesterday visited Roots International Schools Wellington Campus, Islamabad.

Roots International Schools Wellington Campus is the first and only IB World School to offer IB Diploma Programme and IB Primary Years Programme in the twin cities. The IB continuum of international education for 3 to 19 year olds is unique because of its academic and personal rigour. Its mission statement has been translated through the IB learner’s profile, which is a unique set of attributes that the IB education helps to inculcate in its students. Through a practical application of the programme the students are provided with an opportunity to develop traits that guarantee absolute success in the practical. The aim of IB Programme is to become inquirers, thinkers, knowledgeable, communicators, open-minded, caring, risk-takers and get principled, balanced and reflective.

During his visit, Kevin House met with the school leadership, faculty, and management and IB students at Wellington Campus. The leadership and faculty of the school had series of detailed meetings with House regarding the execution of the DP and PYP frameworks being implemented at the school. Mr. House was given a campus tour and briefed about the campus facilities. The IBDP students got the opportunity to speak to Mr. House and share their personal experience of studying IB.

On this occasion, CEO Roots International Schools Walid Mushtaq emphasised the importance of IBDP and IB PYP. He said: “From a child’s first moments of discovery in our early year’s programs, we take a holistic approach, nurturing the cognitive, physical and emotional well-being of every child. RIS sets highest expectations and the academic depth and breadth of the IB is unparalleled.” He laid great importance on enriching the youth and making them global decision makers, as he disapproves the classic classroom education approach and looks forward to the “beyond the conventional textbook style of education”, as he staunchly believes in practical experience of educating, empowering and enlightening the youth.
