Senate body briefed on defence issues

ISLAMABAD  - The Senate Standing Committee on Defense Production was told on Thursday that Pakistan is fully prepared to respond to any aggression. It was also told that Pakistan has the capability to build all kinds of drones.
The committee, which met under the chairmanship of Abdul Qayyum, was told that the AWACS aircraft, got damaged in the terrorist attack on Kamra, has been repaired costing 15 million dollars and made operational in ten month time.
The meeting was informed that the design of JF-17 Thunder fighter jets was also prepared by Pakistani engineers. The fighter jet has the capability to carry all kinds of warheads.
On the occasion, officials of Pakistan Navy told the meeting that the feasibility study has been prepared to build shipyard at Gwadar sea port.
