PTF denies Shahida claim

Our Staff Reporter ISLAMABAD- Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Secretary Mumtaz Yousaf has dismissed the allegations levelled by Shahida Kausar in which she blamed federation for destroying the tennis in the country. Mumtaz termed all charges baseless, with no foundation and is a configuration of motivated agenda. Shahida Kausar who could not secure even a single vote in November 2010 PTF elections held in Islamabad, has misconstrued facts to gain prominence and exert her organization influence on the eve of PTF's Annual General Body meeting which is set to be held today (Monday). PTF asserts that Subh-e-Nau should set her own house in order, as only recently they have cancelled a tournament at the eleventh hour without citing any reason. PTF stresses that in the year 2011 twice Subh-e-Nau had announced to hold tournaments and then cancelled them at the last moment. They have also refused to provide name of sponsors, money collected for each such tournament for scrutiny so far. Tournament being organized by Federal Motors ( Suzuki) was announced a week ago in which around 24 juniors are participating from all over the country, including two players from Karachi. Mumtaz Yousaf said that the federation welcome positive criticism and look forward for suggestions to improve performance, but aggravated propaganda initiated by related officials would be dealt in accordance with PTF rules of business to shelve misinformation which tends to dampen the spirits of hardworking voluntary officials of the organization.
