Drug dealers protest stores’ sealing


TOBA TEK SINGH - Medical stores’ owners observed complete strike here on Tuesday and took out a rally against health officials for sealing their stores over the charges of selling fake medicines.
The rally reached Sadar Bazaar Chowk where Chemists and Druggists Association district president Mian Imran Manzoor and general secretary Mahboob Akbar Kashi addressed the participants.
They said that three medical stores were sealed on Monday in Rail Bazaar for selling allegedly unregistered medicines while the raiding team head Dr Nawazish Ali Goraya and Assistant Commissioner Mushtaq Hussain gave no attention to the point of view of the medical stores’ owners.
They said that pharmaceutical companies were supplying unregistered medicines, claiming that the fault was lying with the medicines companies but action was being taken against them. They said that they had stopped receiving new supply of such unregistered items.
The speakers alleged that the AC took discriminate action against the medical stores, saying the same medicines were being used at all the government and private medical. They said sealed medical stores were not selling any herbal or other medicines.
