Nawa-i-Waqt columnists daughter buried in US

NEW YORK - The daughter of Tyeba Zia, daily Nawa-i-Waqt a columnist was laid to rest in a Long Island graveyard, near New York on Saturday. A large number people including the bereaved family, friends, civil society representatives and members of US-based Pakistani media participated in Momina Cheemas last rites. The 25-year-old straight A student of University of Virginias School of Law, was killed when her car fell into a ditch on Friday. Her funeral was offered Saturday evening at the Hillside Islamic Centre in Qureen, a borough of New York City. Caleb Nelson, her law school professor, paid tributes to Ms Cheema, saying she was a tremendously smart student who kept engaged in her studies. She was hard-working, and inquisitive...
