OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The Lahore Arts Council (LAC) will hold second International Literary and Cultural conference. The three-day conference will start from Saturday at Alhamra Hall, The Mall. Deputy Director Alhamra Arts Council Lahore Zulfiqar Zulf told TheNation that Punjab Chief Minster Shahbaz Sharif would be chief guest of the inaugural session of the conference who will also distribute life time achievement award in four different categories including literature, music, performing art and fine art. However, Zulfi said he could not disclose nominees before the time. He said the first session 'Classical aspects of Urdu poetry (Meer, Ghalib and Iqbal) would be presided over by Shamim Hanfi (India) while Prof Akhtarul Waseh (India) would be chief guest on the occasion. Renowned writers and critics including Fateh Mohammad Malik, Dr Mohammad Ali Siddiqi, Prof Aslam Ansari and Dr Tehseen Firaqi would present their thesis on different topics. He further told that the second session of the first day would be on 'Artists of Pakistan which would be presided over by Mian Ejaz ul Hasan. Third session would be on 'History of Classical Music. And an International Mushaira would also be held where a large number of famous poets from different countries would present their verses.
