Afghan population in Capital to be surveyed



ISLAMABAD  - Islamabad Police has decided to conduct a survey to gather details about the Afghan population dwelling in the capital city.
This survey aims at identification of Afghan residents in order to ensure better security conditions in the city, and to monitor activities of criminals and suspects from among them.
IG Islamabad Police Bani Amin Khan presided a meeting here in which DIG Security, Dr Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, DIG Headquarters Ahmed Mukarram, AIG Operations Tahir Alam Khan, SSP Islamabad, Muhammad Yusuf Malik, all zonal SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs were present. The participants unanimously decided that information be collected about the Afghan population living in rented houses, and those in the slums of Islamabad. It was decided further that vigilance would be made more effective at police check-posts.
