Nouman Khan and Faizan Ali won the 17th National Junior Squash Championship 2022 titles after winning their respective finals of U13 and U11 here at the Punjab Squash Complex on Monday.

Both the juniors belong to Punjab province and they are rising stars in the national junior circuit. In the U13 final, Nouman Khan was up against Ahmad Rehan and displayed quality squash skills to win the title clash by 3-1. Nouman had to face tough resistance from Ahmed before winning the first game by 15-13. Ahmad then made a good comeback and took the second game by 11-9 to level the score at 1-1. Nouman then started playing aggressive game and never looked behind and won back-to-back games by 11-7 and 11-6 to clinch the well-deserving U13 title.

The U11 title was claimed by Faizan Ali who fully dominated the final and outclassed his opponent Syed Hussain by 2-0. Faizan had to struggle hard against Hussain before winning the first game by 12-10. He started the second game in style and didn't allow his opponent play freely, thus winning the second game by 11-6.

CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar graced the concluding ceremony as chief guest and distributed prizes among the prize winners. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said: "These kids are our future stars and more such events will be conducted and encouraged in order to provide maximum competitive events to our players and engage them in healthy squash activities."

He also revealed that they have arranged better and foolproof security for England cricket team, which is arriving to Pakistan soon and will play seven T20 Internationals here in Karachi and Lahore. As the English team has been given State Guests and a special route will be designed for them to make their visit memorable and remarkable.

"We will also try to facilitate the locals and try there will be no hurdles for them while moving towards their offices and homes. Provision of best facilities and protocol to the guests and smooth traffic and routes to common people will be our top priority. It is also quite hearting that New Zealand Security delegation has also visited the venue and expressed their satisfaction regarding security arrangements and they too will be provided the best security and protocols," Ghulam Mahmood Dogar added.
