Business dynamics have witnessed a rapid change and enhancement. Data is emerging as a new currency. Effective utilisation of data analytics is regarded as a competitive edge. Companies which utilise data effectively will survive in the longer term. This was stated by Chief Executive Officer of Blutech Consulting, Kashif Jadoon while talking to The Nation. In the past, the decision making on different matters in organisations was mainly done on basis of individuals’ title, interest-based judgment and network they possess in a company. This method of decision making is obsolete as organisations now need to be data driven, hence making an informed decision. If companies refrain from adopting culture of data driven decisions, they will soon vanish from the business market across the board. The concept of data analytics states that apart from utilising the human mind and cognisance, companies should step ahead and decide their data worth. Blutech Consulting, a company of JBS is a data analytics company, that enables organisations to become data driven and make informed decisions.
To attain competitive edge, Pakistan’s IT sector should change its legacy, old mindset, obsolete methodologies and must introduce young and fresh blood at top positions in companies as well as in our ecosystem, suggests Kashif Jadoon
Blutech Consulting focuses on key areas where the problem exists in the organisation and then resolves it through effectively utilising the data sources. “Blutech Consulting at present is providing data analytics solutions not only in Pakistan but also covering South Africa, European countries, Bahrain, UAE and Qatar. 70 percent of our business is overseas, 30 percent as Pakistan business. In the long run, this will help a lot in the economic development and prosperity of Pakistan by attracting a large pool of investors and massive foreign remittances to our country,” Mr Kashif disclosed. “To attain the competitive edge, Pakistan’s IT sector should change its legacy, old mindset, obsolete methodologies and must introduce the young and fresh blood at top positions in companies as well as in our ecosystem,” He suggested. He describes COVID-19 as a blessing in disguise in Pakistan as the world adopted IT based solutions in a much faster way as compared to the past. After a post-pandemic situation, everyone has realised that they need to strengthen their technology base if they wish to remain in business. If there was no technology, the entire world would have to face a severe shutdown. It is the technology that has opened ways for work and ensured interaction on multiple channels all around the world. He also talked about the startup culture in Pakistan which is getting common with every passing day. Few years before, the youth were adhered to getting employment opportunities only but now our generations have started thinking about getting involved in businesses and entrepreneurship. When it comes to the startup culture, the success stories and failure stories go hand in glove, where the founder and co-founder play a major role. “Don’t take startup casually after becoming an entrepreneur rather it requires a supreme level of dedication, patience, commitment and risk-taking. The idea is to not give up at any cost; business will become successful gradually and not overnight,” he spoke. Failure occurs in a startup business when you don’t have the right planning and ideas regarding what society demands most. The basic concept is to understand that problems exist in every company in the world and once you dare to solve them with full efforts, positivity and consistency through technology then it gives birth to startups. He highlighted that when startups get funding, they demonstrate it as a huge success story. Funding is not a startup’s success criteria; it is merely given to develop something productive for society or to scale up the level of your startup. Apart from the future aspects of the IT sector, the present time also implies a bright era for data analytics and it could be asserted here that in the coming years ahead, only those organisations will survive and sustain for long that keenly and fervently emphasises data analytics for making key decisions in companies. Kashif is of the view that Pakistan and its youth is highly indigenous, passionate, competent, and hardworking and he knows that by taking on board the human resource of his own country, he will certainly culminate his dreams into reality.
