LAHORE - Karachi golf team on Sunday emerged as champion club team of the country after winning the three-round Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) Inter-Club Golf Championship 2021-22 contested at the Karachi Golf Club Golf Course. 

Peshawar Golf Club were the runners-up and due to an upsetting happening, the Lahore Garrison team stood disqualified as one of their lady players failed to reach on time for the tee off. And as per rules, the Garrison team was no longer a contender for top honors. Karachi players ended as leaders with a team aggregate score of 2,775 while runners-up team Peshawar had an aggregate score of 2,904. 

In the other segments, the four members amateur team comprising of Hamza Shikoh, Yashal Shah, Saim Shazli and Abdullah Adil emerged as winners with a score of 669. Lahore Garrison amateurs consisting of Nouman Ilyas, Damil Ataullah, Ahmad Kiyani and Cap Muhaymin were runners-up with an aggregate score of 672. In the senior amateur segment, Garrison team of Col (r) Asif Mehdi, Col (r) M Shafi and Tariq Mehmood was the winning combination with a score of 703 while runners-up were Karachi Golf Club having team members Asad IA Khan, Khurram Khan, Cdr Majid Satti and Sohail K Rana. 

The ladies segment winner was Peshawar Golf Club ladies team and their performers were Mrs Ayesha Moazzam, Syeda Iman Ali Shah and Syeda Laiba Ali Shah. KGC ladies team of Tabasum Sharif, Nida Arfeen and Naghmana Atif were runners-up. In boys, winning team was KGC and Peshawar Golf Club was runner-up while in girls, winning team was Lahore Garrison and Peshawar Golf Club was runner-up. At the conclusion of PGF Inter Club Golf Competition, IPC Minister Dr Fehmida Mirza awarded prizes to the winners and runners-up and also a winning cheque of Rs one million to the champions, Karachi Golf Club.
