Nursing becoming a prestigious, graceful sector of society, says Zafar

LAHORE    -    BSC Nursing Degree Programme in Pakistan undoubtedly opened new avenues for higher education and the field of nursing is becoming more pres­tigious and graceful with each passing day. Nursing also coming at par with developed countries, like other medi­cal sectors. In addition, highly qualified nurses are now better performing their duties along with doctors in the treat­ment and care of patients. These views were expressed by the Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Prof. Dr. Mu­hammad Al-freed Zafar while address­ing first professional results ceremony of Nursing College, AMC/Lahore Gen­eral Hospital, according to which, the result of the institute was 96 percent

Meanwhile due to the hard work and dedication of the Subject Teacher Asma Abid the students of this Nursing Col­lege obtained 55 distinguished posi­tions in microbiology out of 98. Princi­pal PGMI highlighted that the nursing students have made the name of their college more brighter by getting excel­lent results, for which all their teachers and faculty deserve congratulations. Principal PGMI felicitated the efforts and performance of Ramzan Bibi, Sabra Saad, Samar Naz Kanwal, Shehnaz Dar, Azra Parveen, Asma Abid, Subia Latif, Nasreen Kausar, Azra Yaqoob, Ramzana in the field of nursing education. Prin­cipal PGMI said that nursing teachers play a key role in improving the skills of their students, education, awareness and discipline about seasonal as well as infectious diseases, so there is a need for everyone related to the medical profession to keep acquainted with the latest research and development in the medical sector. 

Prof. A-freed stressed that it is a con­tinuous process to keep oneself up­dated about the latest knowledge and developments taking place. He further said that this step will directly benefit the students of the medical and nurs­ing colleges, rather, it will result in im­proved patient care also. 

Prof. Zafar urged the nursing students to pay more attention to their academic activities to continue their success so that they can fetch great achievements in future as well. Ramzan Bibi said that FSC (Pre-Medical) students enter to get admission in BSC Nursing degree and after completing the degree they can get direct recruitment in grade 16 which gives them a chance to earn a good livelihood with best career. 

She advised them to behave good with the patients and their heirs and to make efforts to increase their pro­fessional abilities.
