ISLAMABAD- The traditional flag hoisting ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad where President Mamnoon Hussain hoisted the national flag. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Army Chief, federal ministers and foreign diplomats were also part of the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, the President said the country cannot afford any meaningless political adventurism at a time when it is fighting a war for its survival and stability.
He called upon the political leadership to avert any chaos and anarchy in the country.

Paying tributes to the sacrifices of the armed forces, he announced that the country had a bigger evil to deal with at this point in time and more chaos would only come as a blow to Pakistan. The entire nation must stand united behind the armed forces to eradicate terrorism, he concluded.
